It is difficult to identify anything good coming from the early years of Covid, but I viewed free time as a precious commodity -- and with the advent of Covid I suddenly I had buckets of it.

The Biltmore Estate was one of our favorite places in Asheville, we went several times a year to see the gardens and walk the land, but during that first year of Covid (our last year in Asheville) we visited weekly.  The estate covers 8000 acres, 13 square miles.  To put that in some kind of context, the town of Warren RI where I now live (and which proudly bills itself as the geographically smallest town in the smallest state in the union), is 8.7 square miles in size.  So, there was always something new to discover at the Biltmore.  And other things, like these lotuses, that simply needed staying in touch with.
